What kind of life do I want?
Babalù was born from this question. Valentina and I, along with some friends, asked ourselves this question. And we continue to do so, every day. Babalù is a first answer: I want a lighter life, less burdensome on the planet and on the land we live on, Umbria. This is where we start.
The Vision
• VIRTUAL? REAL! We want to be present locally, not just online. To be close to the consumer. • Babalù is an ECOSYSTEM! We want to create synergies between people, perspectives, and different possibilities – starting with our distributors! • Babalù is a ROCKET, the first step in a project aimed at creating a CIRCULAR ECONOMY ENTERPRISE: in Italy/that works with land and materials/…the next step? • We are not toothbrush sellers! Babalù is the first product in (we hope) a long series…the common thread? Products and services for everyday use that help us live while reducing our ecological footprint on the planet.
What Babalù is made of
The classic plastic toothbrush is one of the most polluting everyday objects. Changing this simple habit helps the planet. Babalù is made with MAO bamboo produced in China. MAO bamboo is a grass, not a tree. In 5 years it can reach 25-30 cm in diameter, making it a completely renewable resource. Furthermore, bamboo is biodegradable and naturally antibacterial. The bristles are made of Nylon6 (vegan friends wouldn't understand a pig bristle!). Babalù's lifespan is similar to that of a regular plastic toothbrush, which should be changed every 3 months. It does not contain PCBs. It is compostable in organic waste.
